Wedgewood House ~ Our Facility
Located on a quiet tree-lined, residential street in the heart of Kentville, the Wedgewood House provides a beautiful home to our residents. It is within easy walking distance of Kentville’s town square, library, seniors’ clubs, cafes and shops and everything else that this picturesque town has to offer.
The Wedgewood House was originally built as the private residence of local business tycoon, T. P. Calkin in 1960. Constructed with the highest quality materials, the house retains the original charm and elegance of a private home. We are proud to be one of only two fully-private government licensed-residential care facilities in the Province of Nova Scotia. Because we are only a 15 bed facility, you will not find the institutional environment of many nursing homes at the Wedgewood House. Instead, you will find individualized care in a pleasant residential setting.
Every resident of the Wedgewood House has their own private room with private ensuite bathroom complete with a tub and shower. Our residents enjoy the privacy of their individual, spacious rooms while enjoying the peace-of-mind that comes with 24 hour care. At the Wedgewood House, a helping hand is close by whenever you need it.
